Was bloghopping this morning and went to http://sg-shootthebreeze.blogspot.com from Parul’s as he is one of the winners. While browsing through his posts, guess what I encounter, Surprise! Surprise! My golu from last year!

p.s. First thing I did was check to see if my husband is blogging behind my back and he is not! Good for him! So I think I don’t know this person. Even if I know you, that is my bommai, my golu! Don’t have problem sharing the photographs but have a big problem sharing my golu credits. Because that is MINE MINE MINE!

Oh my God! I agree that loads of people use google images in their posts but claiming my Paatis Maraapaachis as his own?!!! Well, he has another thing coming!!!

I happen to see your latest blog on your golu and I was pretty shocked too. It so happens that his reply to my comment on his blog is being highlighted. Finally glad that I found the correct person to whom this appreciation of the golu should go to. I was totally awed by the way you had arranged and decorated the dolls, esp the chettiyar kadai and marapachi dolls. Sincere apologies from my side too

Thanks Anu! Still don’t mind my golu picture in others blogs, but the credits, that is another story. The golu has lot of hand-work stuff from my grandma. The marappachi dolls were decorated by my grandma. And the groceries in choc-truffle holder is my own idea. Thanks again for coming over!

I went and read that guy’s post and also the multiple comments from readers complimenting the Golu photo – the guy never directly acknowledged the Golu related compliment – just gave some generic Thanks type response to each of those commenters – so am sure he did not put up that photo by accident or a Picasaweb mixup
Glad that you left a comment – but wish something can be done to make the guy explicitly acknowledge that the Golu is not his !!!!

TPL, this year’s Diwali baks made by mom since she is here. Mixture, mullu murukku, normal murukku, somasi, poli, ompodi so far. She is yet to make one more sweet! 🙂
This is the first year after marriage that we are celebrating Diwali with parents so according to mom, it is our thalai deepavali, hence the elaborate baks.

As I said, didn’t have any problem with my golu picture at your blog. Had issues when you acknowledged the unsuspecting commenters when they complimented on “your” golu. Anyway, thanks!

Just checked with my wife. She had a quite a few collection of golu pictures. I took one of them from her collection thinking it was ours. Now I know it is not ours.

Hello Alll of you here who are going for the jugular. SG made a mistake and apologized. Absolutely, no need to extrapolate that one gaffe of his to everything he’s done pre and post that incident.
For that matter, since all of you here are pretty righteous about this whole thing let me ask you a simple question.

Sorry, what does Facebook have to do with what SG did?
I read his apology but I’m a bit wary of believing that he didn’t know that the room in the picture was not his, far less such a distinctive golu.
Speaking as one who has had posts lifted and who writes for a living in the real world, I assure you that this ‘borrowing’ is a very real infringement on person’s rights.

and i appreciate an apology but a simple I am sorry would have been far better than the convoluted explanation. I mean men are known to be clueless, but surely you’d recognise your own home’s golu…

I do not believe it was a honest mistake what SG did. Whatever he did later and the story he came up with was obviously a damage control misson.

It just irrites me on why people dont respect boundaries in anothers house or blog photos.
Although he has taken down the post, I read his blog post and comments from the cache through boos blog. Wow the power of internet – if you think it will come back to haunt you dont put it in writing.
