Rajini seems to have enjoyed doing a movie after a very long time. And it shows in this movie! Awesome performance by Rajini. None of those punch dialogues, smoking/chewing gum gimmicks in this movie.
Aishwaray Rai’s dancing was very good. Other than that, nothing special.
The second half animatronics, especially, the swarm formations of the bots were amazing. Very creative.
The picturization of Kilimanjaro and Kadhal Anukkul were wonderful. The locations were breathtaking!
Chitti’s conversation with humans. Enjoyable. Very creative writing. RIP Sujatha!

Minor Cons:
The train fight was too long and unnecessary
Too many songs

What else can I say that the others haven’t said already!
Overall awesome movie!

  2. yaay! πŸ™‚ I loved it too. V2.0 was sheer awesomeness. Rajni at his best πŸ˜€

I felt that they cldave cut off that mosquito animation.. rangusky was annoying.. second half was a tad slow.. but enjoyed the movie a lot!

YY: Oh Yeah! Rangusky was annoying. But on the whole enjoyed the movie.

  3. ‘Rangusky’ was a sort of a tribute to Sujatha I thought.

YY: Hmm.. Never thought in that angle. If that is the case, they could have named chitti as rangusky. That would have been a better tribute! πŸ™‚

    • Oh yes.. I remember seeing Sankar’s interview sometime back.. he said that it was Sujatha’s preferred name or something..
Chitti as Rangusky would be better tribute for sure!
At least ithula animate panninanga.. Indralogathil nan azhagappan la 2 per mosquito costume la vanthu ninnanga.. that was our cue to get out from the theatre! sabba.. mudiyala..

  5. The chellatha scene was awesomely hilarious. Starting from ‘Who is this chellatha?’.

YY: Goldie! How can I forget chellatha. It was hilarious indeed!

  6. Henceforth I worship one idol called Rajinikanth πŸ˜›

I guess those irritating scenes including Kalabhavan Mani were all there for the masses.
The problem with Shankar is that he fluctuates between awesome and aweful!

YY: That is true Praveen. Right from Gentleman, he has those irritating scenes for the masses. Oh yeah, Kalabhavan Mani scene was worse than Ranghusky!
