Sitting in the backyard in a warm afternoon, stringing the jasmine blossoms while the husband plucks the 1000s of jasmine blossoms. And the kids from super singer junior kids singing in the background in the laptop. Bliss!! 🙂

  5. Lovely string of Malli. This year seems like the Jadhi Malli is in abundance. Even in my tiny garden we have a lot.

YY: It has been like that here every year!! Itz just that, this week, we let it blossom for 4 days before we did the picking..

  6. seeing the picture and reading your post i got reminded of my thatha picking the flowers and my paatti stringing the saram. What an apt song from Azhagan.

  7. Hey, I chanced upon your blog..Can you please tell me where to get this flower?? What it is known here in the US?

YY: Welcome Subha! You can buy it in Home Depot or Orchard Supply Hardware(if you are in the SF bay area) or Lowes. Or any other nursery. It is called Pink Jasmine. It blooms end of Feb through end of April. So the season will end in a week or two.

  9. In our tiny little garden, we have the jasmine blooms too, but unfortunately I don’t know how to string it. The artist in me can only pluck and put it in a bowl, just for the fragrance. LOL.
